NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) recently inked a land lease deal with the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for establishing a cutting-edge integrated green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka village. Spanning 1200 acres, the project aims to become India’s largest green hydrogen production facility and is slated for completion of its initial phase by 2026.

With an estimated investment of INR 1.1 Lakh-Crore, the hub will host state-of-the-art infrastructure for electrolyser and fuel cell manufacturing, ancillary industries, start-ups, and testing facilities. Additionally, it will produce green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol.

The initiative will also incorporate pre-engineered buildings, solar rooftops, industrial zones, and central business districts. NTPC’s ambitious goal of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032 underscores its commitment to decarbonization objectives in Andhra Pradesh and across India.
