A recently shared video showcasing the state-of-the-art Terminal 3 of Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport has garnered widespread attention, earning praise from Minister Shantanu Thakur and business magnate Anand Mahindra. The awe-inspiring architectural marvel is set to open to the public in December 2024.

The unveiling of the new passenger terminal (T3), announced in 2018 by the former Minister of Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, is a significant milestone in Lucknow’s infrastructure development. Covering an expansive land area of 1,11,367 square meters, the terminal connects seamlessly with T2 and T3 terminals and can accommodate over 13 million passengers annually.

With an estimated construction cost of ₹1,383 crore, the T3 Terminal boasts 75 check-in counters, 18 check-in kiosks, 30 lifts, and five escalators, ensuring efficient passenger flow. Designed by Pascall and Watson, the interiors pay homage to Uttar Pradesh’s rich culture and heritage, adding elegance to the ambiance.

The terminal complex includes a multi-storey parking facility for 1,500 vehicles and over 5 km of stormwater drainages alongside the runway, enhancing operational efficiency. Managed by Lucknow International Airport Limited (LIAL), the airport offers various services, from self-check-in kiosks and prayer rooms to duty-free shops, providing a comprehensive travel experience that reflects the city’s commitment to excellence in aviation infrastructure.
